On a snowy winter’s day, siblings Gabriel and Maya Dunn were returning from an outing to the frozen lake.
Not far from the path, Maya noticed a great grey wolf sitting alone upon a rock — and within moments, the rest of the pack emerged from the mist.
Maya managed to escape, but Gabriel found himself face to face with the pack’s fearsome leader. When defeat seemed certain, an otherworldly girl appeared and, with a single command, brought the wolves to heel. Grateful and bewildered, Gabriel befriended her — unaware of who, or what, she truly was.
Life soon returned to normal, filled with school days and restless thoughts, until Gabriel met Detective Robert — a meeting that changed everything. With his closest friends at his side, Gabriel embarked on a series of strange and perilous adventures, only to discover that the wolf’s bite had not merely marked him… it had cursed him.
Deep beneath the earth, they uncovered a hidden passage — a gateway to another realm. Beyond it lay a world of the dead, where Gabriel met his mysterious saviour once again. Her name was Lava, and she bore the duty of Death itself. Yet even that revelation could not extinguish the light of his love for her.
